PostSubject: Possible NHL Rule changes?   Sun Aug 15, 2010 11:41 pm

From ESPN Insider

The NHL's research and development camp is set
for this week, and the league will try out several new rules for the
game says The Hockey News. These include a nine-minute overtime that
decreases one player per team every three minutes to the point where the
final three minutes are played 2-on-2.

The last time the NHL held a similar summit was after the lockout
in 2004-05. This produced several changes, including 4-on-4 overtime, a
shootout and an end to the red line, except for icing.

It's unclear whether this summit will provide anything quite so
revolutionary. Offense has increased post-lockout and fans seem to enjoy
the shootout. But if something works it could be put into effect at
some point in the near future. Maybe we will see a bigger crease and
wider blue lines -- both will be tested at the camp -- during the
2011-12 season.

What do you guys think?

I thought they tested wider bluelines before? 2 on 2 OT would be crazy. I don't think it should go below 3v3 though.
